Endless Rows of Death

I walk along a row of wilted flowers,
As the darkness creeps along behind.
Slowly shifting from each shadow,
To the next, unseen and undetected.
Waiting for the moment in which to strike
And demenish each happy thought and my exsistance.
Cautiously I place each step
Waiting for the moment when my world will shatter
Like broken shards of glass.
Knowing I cannot stop what must be,
Nor can I forsee the outcome.
So softly I tred hoping this will last
And that my fate is not the same
As those wilted flowers
That surround me now
In endless rows of death.
