Letter to God.

Contributed by lostinmyself on Saturday, 18th September 2004 @ 10:06:56 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Dear god...

I was wondering if i could speak to you for a while,
To ask you teach me how to be a happy girl,
Ask you to change what is happening in the world,
But you never answered,
I only heard echo's of myself answer my words.
And i wonder if you are really there looking down on me,
Looking down on everyone, on everything,
And i asked myself, do i believe?
I don't know....

Dear god...

I was never going to be the best person in the world,
I have done some bad things in this life,
But i have done some good things as well.
And though i complain about how life is,
I am thankfull for all i have ever recieved,
Frienship, love, hope, family,
You have taught me everything i need is free.
Others have life so much harder than mine could ever be,
And i wish i could thank you for all you have given to me.

Dear god...

There are so many things i wish i could say to you,
Though there is not enough ink in the world,
Not enough space upon any page,
It is something that i would wish to do.
And i know that though i write to you,
I am so unsure as to what to believe,
I can only hope you are listening for my call,
Are you watching over me, or are you just a dream?
Faith that dissapeared could at any time reappear,
And i wish that at this time i could see,
So, i will mail this letter to you, tonight while i sleep,
And hope that in the morning there will be a letter waiting for me.

Dear god...do you hear what i say?
Do you listen when i pray?
Please show me how to be happy again...

This is full of heartwrenching emotion. I hope you find some way someday soon. This is a gripping poem. I can feel the tone welling up throughout the entire piece. I also wish you peace.

Lots of love and peace be with you,

Chelsea

True faith begins with a seed...a question. Listening for the answer can be difficult and take some time. Learning to hear the answer spoken often in a voice much like your own comes only with experience. This is so heartfelt, raw, and honest. He does not neglect those He loves.

I do believe in "God", just not the one they teach you inside a church building. I believe in the God that resides inside me. The goodness and caring and love and empathy for the world. I do not believe in the hell and damnation God or the God in the bible which I think is just a guide to living under man's rules of society to control the masses. I try to follow the commandments which I believe in and the Golden rule. Those make sense to me. Took me a long time to find my God and accept him. Took me a long time to realize I could pray anytime (24/7) and anywhere. I did not have to be inside a specified building. Good luck in your inner search.

Rita

That was a wonderful poem full of questions that all of us seem to have at one time or another. But do not fear... God hears every word.. he hears everything. And he is not afraid of your questions.. he will listen to your screaming at him... he loves your honesty. I pray that you will be able to hold onto what God has promised.. he keeps his promises and loves you to bits.

Awesome write cause I know it got me thinking. Thank you for posting it.

Very moving to me, my friend. The simplicity makes it seem childlike, but this prayer, I think, is bumping around in all our hearts in one form or another.

I think I've seen just a bit of an answer. Just enough of a glimpse of that "land that stretches afar" to keep going with all I've got. I pray you see it as well, or better.

Andrew

Oh philly, this is very personal. Our God is so personal He knows all those thoughts you want to have Him know... please believe that.
