Deliciously Delicate

Contributed by EternitysLyre on Saturday, 18th September 2004 @ 05:32:26 AM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

“In circles round the fire we dance
Waltzing—wishing—waiving—‘cant’
Circles circled, a covert glance
Coruscant knights who share a lance”

‘Twas the season sought by all who wore the winter’s wheels
Because the reasons caught the fall before the hinter’s heels
Although the gasping gander’s gall shan’t make the feathers feel
A dove’s beloved larks can call as nightingales can spiel

So rough and tough serrations tore from verdant life to life
Gruff and puffed sensations bore a channel to the rife
And though the trees would bleed away a forest’s aged knife
Rustles in the bustles spell incision-stricken strife

Relieved, deceived, and duly grieved the silence prances past
Bitten, smitten, intermittent cadence can’t come last
Sober, over, three-leaf clovers burn through four-leaf grass
Filed, tiled, reconciled
A (sinking) herald hangs half-mast

So high and low become bestowed in wild, whirling winds
At best, behest the rabid rest to leave the languish limns
Seldom’s sake maroons mistakes when readiness rescinds
And lyres are as liarsleft with helpless, hapless hymns

And through the stains of ribald rains
And weath’ring sands of time
A compass passes passive plains
(Up and down at once the same)

And nothing seems to rhyme.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
