Blood Flower: 4 - Recollections

Contributed by Nazmythian on Friday, 17th September 2004 @ 11:47:52 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The stage is now dark
The virtuosa is gone
But her haunting refrain
Still lingers on

I remember the night of my birth
Nay, not as you would think of it
Perhaps it is better stated - my rebirth
Some would call it an awakening
'Twas the night I bought my freedom
The cost ~ My mortal soul

I had thought so highly of myself then
Alone - A hunter of things dark
In truth - A mere pup
Seeking to slay a bear
( Huh Ha !! Such folly !! )
I had sought her out
Found her I did too
Through mine own cleverness
And stubborn persistance

I considered myself a great hunter
That night I discovered her lair
I know now, she had been toying with me
It had been a game to her
She grew tired of the chase
Allowed for me to come to her
She feared me not
And for what reason should she
She was immortal
She was ...
( Sigh )
She was beauty
The standard for by which
All things would come to be judged
The sight of her atop her pallet
Bathed in a sliver of moon light
Was enough to stop my heart
In that very instant

Her kiss upon my neck
Merely a formality
For I was already dead
Surely such perfection could not exist
In what was my world

She took me that night
In more ways than one
And for a time, she was my existance
She would feed, and bleed me
To the point of my exhaustion
I could neither move nor resist
As she would step away and disrobe
I could not force myself to move
But she had endless exquisite ways
Of making me rise

I would lay helpless beneath her
As she drew her mark upon my body
Over and over she drew into my flesh
A crescent moon, and into its hollow
The symbol of a trilled note
The moon she said, was her muse
And the note stood for her name
She was called ~ Melodie
The mark would bind me to her
Through it, she said I would feel her
Sense her, be able always to find her
If she willed it

The music we made lived up to her name
Often, she would hum haunting laments
As she took from me what she wanted
What she needed, or desired
Much she gave of herself in return
I was, and always will be, gratefull

It pained me to leave
More than I had thought possible
But I had an errant task
Little thought had I put into
That which lay beyond my plan
Yet now upon its completion
I face the future

I have no past
I have no home
I have no family
I have no friends
I have nothing
Save time
And of that ...

I have all the time in the world

Hi Naz,

Again a very powerful piece. Very seductive and passionate. Someone side tracked perhaps, yet with a mission.... perhaps of discovery, not sure of what direction to go...

A potent write, I continue to enjoy and learn from your incredible talent

This was a very captivating write. I'm going to look for the first three episodes. I want to read them in succession. If the first three are as good as this, I'm in for a great read! Great imagination!!Thumps ; 0)

Wow Naz!
Hauntingly provocative. Dark and mysterious, yet begging my attention to the end.
Your poems always keep me spellbound.
This was no exception.
Great work!

Well, I went back and read them all in succession. What can I say that others before me have not? You are truely a wordsmith extraordinaire. You take words and weave them into the most intriguing, mesmerizing tale that I have had the pleasure to be drawn into. BRAVO! ENCORE!
With utmost respect

And the story lives on... What can I say to this? Other than perfection is woven in these words, desire wrapped around them, and a sense of completion over taking me... Tantalizing, beguiling, captivating till the very end... I succomb to you, dearest Naz... The hunter seemed lost, side-tracked, trying to get to a place in which it is still a mystery to him and I... Has she, this beauty called Melodie, stolen so much from you? If so, can she ever repay you? Give you everything that you wish, that you desire? Oh, my precious poet, you have made me so happy for continuing our story, our morbid yet disturbingly beautiful endeavor... I thank you for this! My show of gratitude shall be a fourth submission of my immortal character and her obscure hunter. The mark is what binds us, a crescent moon, my beautiful muse; let darkness envelop us, and we shall dwell in the arms of one another, floating upon a sea of eternal love... I truly love this piece, Naz! Your soul has been revealed to me once again, and it is more beautiful than the last time I took a glimpse... Incredibly beautiful and real. Your words always create a picture in my mind; in this I am forever more your fervent fan! Again, I thank you! All my love~! Eternally yours,

Votre melodie/précieux fleur de sang.

Well, my chronicles seem rather boring compared to these. lol
There utterly amazing and really cool. The story itself its awesome, the writing, the imagery everything just pulls the reader deep into the poem.
This was incredible. I love your work. I hope there will be more of these.
Loved it.
Becky
