I Live In An Empty City

Contributed by Phildel on Friday, 8th November 2002 @ 10:10:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Waking up to a new day,
Bleak buildings, grim rain,
A day full of gray.
Walking alone, yet again.

Thinking about last year,
Life bustles around
I imagine the laughter
For I hear, not a sound.

I see no people,
But walking replicca shells
Of others I imagine
Who run deeper than wells.

But in a lost timeless space
I seem to hover,
Far from the outcry,
Of family and bother.

Where did they go?
I think sometimes at night.
The people who cared
Brought blue into sight.

I don't know! Can't remember...
It's been too long this way,
I walk on through the long
Dead city of gray.

That's very good! It gave me both a mental image and an emotional one! I'm impressed! :-)
