Comfort Of A Lover

Contributed by pixie on Friday, 17th September 2004 @ 01:24:40 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

To feel the comfort from your lover,
Is so unlike & more precious than any other,
As I let my tears fall down my face,
You held me & I felt all my fear erase.

I can still feel the warmth of your arms,
You’re not here but still protecting me from harm,
Your soft caress is something that is still felt,
I think of you & my heart begins to melt.

Knowing that you will wipe away my tears,
Helps me to wave goodbye to my fears,
Having you near & having you close,
Reassures me that I can’t be hurt by my ghosts.

You wrapped me up so tight as if I would break,
I fell asleep in your soul I didn’t ever want to wake,
The love you give to me makes me feel so great,
You have included happiness & love in my fate.

In your heart is where I like to often dwell,
A night without you feels just like hell,
When I look into your beautiful brown eyes,
I can see a true love that will never, ever die.

Yeah, it's great until his cellphone rings and it's his wife...KIDDING...JUST KIDDING.
Seriously, this is a poem I could just curl up in.
You wrapped me up so tight as if I would break,
I fell asleep in your soul I didn’t ever want to wake,
These are my very favorite lines. "I fell asleep in your soul..." I LOVE that!
