Modern Day Hero

Contributed by Alovinmann on Friday, 17th September 2004 @ 12:39:32 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

the door swings on open
and in he walks
kinda like a star shooting down in the sky
smile on his face
he hides his true thoughts
from all the young girls
that he wants to try

Modern day hero
Walkin off in the night
He's got the maiden
Tucked under his arm
No one spots his game
As he sez his goodnights
After all a hero can do nobody harm

he offers a smoke
and a word or two
c'mon girls the drinks are on me
when the room
closes down
there the good guy is found
kinda like a late night show on T.V.

Yeah modern day hero
Walkin off in the night
He's got the maiden
Tucked under his arm
No one spots his game
As he sez his goodnights
After all a hero can do nobody harm

come back with me
i'll give you more
than drinks and sad lonely laughter
in the warm morning light
your Valentino is there
then girl your another morning after

Modern day hero
Walking off in the night
He's got the maiden
tucked under his arm
No one spots his game
As he sez his goodnights
After all a hero can do nobody harm
So full of charm
Can do no harm
So full of charm
Can do no harm

This one touched my heart. It is so true. This song reminds me of a guy I knew and trusted. He did the same thing to me.......I was to nieve and young to understand. All girls need to be aware.......a "gentleman" may not always be as gentle as he may apear.

Thanking you so much Alovinmann for commenting on my Sparrow Poem. So you're a musician too! Wonderfully creative with your lovely but very true song. I never thought I'd ever fall for a Valentino, but have found most of them are counterfeit fakes, just as the one you mentioned here! But after the door is closed, watch out you're in for a lot of hurt!
You are very talented. I love this one, and it should soar! Do you also write your own music to accompany you?
Wonderful material, and you poem has all the talent that I'm sure your musicial ability too!
Warm hugs
Lovingcritters

this is an excellent message! i used to work in a bar. you could see the guys who were out to use and abuse.
I used to stand there somenights and despair as i watched some nice girls fall for all the rubbish.
