Selfishness

I saw the selfishness burning in those eyes
It took my breath away
and made me realize
You don't care about anyone
No one, but you
You pretend to care
But I know it's not true
It's written all over you face
The lies, the greed
I'm nothing to you
Nothing you need
But why do I care so much to take this pain it gives
When they could careless if my soul dies or lives
I feel used and weak
All these feelings held inside
To complicated of words to speak
So I sit here stunned, a sadness that I can't explain
For their selfishness causes my pain
Too cold to feel, too deaf to hear and too blind to see
They care about nothing,
Not even me
All I do for them is not appreciated, but expected
This love I give to them is rejected
I could laugh, I could cry
But we will never see eye to eye
So I'll sit here and watch as they live life blind
With my secret that they will probably never find . . .
