Blackbird's Song

Contributed by Hurretje on Friday, 17th September 2004 @ 07:31:37 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

You're love's like a frozen bud
Full of promise, always shut
Shining, sparkling, bright outsides
But within your true self hides

At some point your voice has died
Pouting, never satisfied
You hide your face behind your hands
Indulging in your self-defence

In your eyes, a frozen lake
Impossible for me to break
Through to what you mean to me
Left out for eternity

Winter's over, so please stop
Make way for the first snowdrop
See its white cup, it's stem so green
Pave their ways to what you've been

Open up your heart for me
As spring gets in to set you free
Listening to the blackbird's song
We will dance our whole lives long

Hur, this is so delicately done. Love, hope and dreams are what make life worth living. You did a great job here.

Hugs,
Rita
