Summer of The Devil's Voodoo

Contributed by Alina on Thursday, 16th September 2004 @ 07:50:04 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The Summer of The Devil's Voodoo
Was a game I always dared to play
He was smooth.....sexy....and cool
Turned me on in an ironic way.

That summer, Satan dealt me an Ace
Which put me directly on the spot
Under the burning spotlight
He made me choose wich life I sought.

In this card game that we played
The Ace of Hearts had two paths
One of Eternal Freedom
One was The Grapes of Wrath.

Yet, the path of Eternal freedom
Was disguised with thorns and a black robe.
The path of The Grapes of Wrath
Was covered with rose bushes........
.........I ONLY had to sell my soul.

So I made a deal with the Devil
I told him I'd sell my soul
All I wanted in return was a
Charmed life that seemed whole.

Yet little did I know
This wasn't the easy way out.......
Life is full of those thorns
The thorns that leave you in doubt.

I sit here in this blazing red coal fire
Writing you this poem
Of how I chose The Devil's Voodoo
Wich leaves me with a black heart
that was stolen.

The Summer of The Devil's Voodoo
Is one I'll never forget
Although Eternal Freedom may be covered with thorns
It's a path not taken.......
I now know I regret !!

I loved it, this is a really cool poem.
I really liked what you did with this.
Seem to expressr egrets regarding
voodoo, and to me this was colorful in a cool way.
