I Like Me!

Contributed by pixie on Thursday, 16th September 2004 @ 08:14:43 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Finally I like the person I am,
No longer do I feel my life’s a sham,
I feel good when I look ay myself,
In love is where I want my wealth.

I never thought I’d like me,
From my ghosts I am now free,
Free to get on living & loving,
Instead of all the pushing & shoving.

I am beautiful outside & in,
What I was doing to myself was a sin,
I hated what I saw I despised my reflection,
I pushed away all my love & protection.

Self harms been replaced with self love,
I have been awarded a gift from above,
I have beaten myself up for my past,
But now I have something I know will last.

To wake up & not want to be dead,
Is the best thought that’s ever been in my head,
It’s a wonderful feeling of wanting to live,
I am a good person with so much to give.

I have come such a long ,long way,
Self acceptance comes with each passing day,
My heart is true & my love is real,
I will forever cherish these things I now feel.

I do possess strength & will power,
I have grown into a beautiful flower,
I have been missing out on so much,
Now I’m free I can fully feel your touch.

Well, sweetpea, you should like yourself. You are beautiful, intelligent, talented and full of love. Self-respect and self-love are extremely important. I am so proud of you.

Hugs,
Rita

God, what a poem. You project that self confidence to me. Who wouldn't fall in love with you?

pixie,

That was a beautifully written poem; and the message was fantastic. It really feels good to hear you talk about liking your self. And you are loveable weather or not you have a lover in your life. If we love ourself then we are available to be loved by others.

A wonderful and powerful poem
Willofree
