Miracle at sea

Miracle at sea

Lashing rain, thunders might,
Lightning steaks in anger tonight,
I cringe as the nautical wind screams,
Wondering if this is the end of my dreams,

Mountainous waves loom over nigh,
Then fear as death plummets from a high,
Crushing suffocation from seas embrace,
Amplified agonies, my blood begins to race,

Lungs screaming limbs are thrashing,
Mounting pressure, senses crashing,
I struggle weakly but the distance is great,
Then darkness as I give in to my watery fate,

Hearing strange music in my world of green,
A feeling of rising, induced by something unseen,
Misty thoughts unsure hazy hallucinations,
In a calm sea, upon flotsam, without explanations,

Alive, when I should be dead,
Weak and bruised, raw and red,
Dumbfounded as to how or why,
Seeing something that makes me cry,

Lights and yells, as rescue is near,
They have seen me thank you god I share,
Later I awake surrounded in friendly faces,
Others like me, rescued racers,

Some are still lost, for them we pray,
And hope to us that they find their way,
As later told all our stories are the same,
Rescued from death by creatures of no name,
For we have awoken on a ship with no crew,
Alive and well, on a mystery with no clue.

Wonderful rhyme, with very nice descriptions! You can almost feel the sea sweep you off your feet. A true reading pleasure!

The descriptions, imagery and flow I felt was a work of art.

This is a poem of perfection in my humble opinion.

Also unique, i've never read anything quite like it. I wish I had written it!

Interesting. I like the imagery of the water
and the mysterious creatures.
