Reason to dream

Contributed by Hurretje on Wednesday, 15th September 2004 @ 03:24:35 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Give me a reason to dream
Of golden fields and skies so blue
Give me a reason to dream
Of people so nice and a love so true

When gnarling blunt clouds, like servants of grey
Darken my sight onto you, my dear
When bullying rain harshly washes away
All we once had in a pool of fear

Give me a reason to dream
Of ivory eggs in a velvet spring
Give me a reason to dream
Of genuine love of which we all sing

When all is lost, the lights are all out
And none I can do, but silently scream
Then, in the dark I know without doubt
My reason to beam, my reason to dream

You give me a reason to wake
O, you're fairer than the autumn shade
You give me a reason to wake
O, you're more than any dream can trade

This is much lighter than "From the Dark" series. This put a sigh in my heart and a smile on my face. It left me feeling like a school kid skipping home on the last day of school! :o] Great, great, great.

Lovely poem.

I love the way it flows...
'You give me a reason to wake
O, you're fairer than the autumn shade '
Exquisite and sweet.

Beautiful piece! I identify with it much, and have been asking for dreams to brighten life lately myself. I very much like this one. Bravo!

I can imagine a sequel with "reason to scream". Seriously though, this is sweet and hopeful. Nice write. Cheers!
