_______________________
If I had known your name was love
I would have answered sooner
Heed the call of passions cry
Swept up in desire’s roar
If I had heard your voice
Seducing me with lips as sweet as wine
I would have fallen under your spell
So very long ago
When all the possibilities were young
Like stars in the heavens, beckoning for more
Truth is, love knows no bounds
Time is but the setting and rising of the sun
If I had known life passed so quickly by
I would not have settled for something less
When love promised so much more

A very wise and well stated poem.
At some point in life I wonder if we all think back and say, "If I had known?"
Your poem got me to thinking and I thought it was wonderful to read.

i think we can all settle for less at times just to have an easy life.
But i also think if you truly love yourself
( and not in a narcissus way)
and those around you,
you will naturally increase your expectations.
Excellent poetry once again.
