To A Friend

Topic: DarkPoetry

I love the way you write
I write this with no masks no sarcasms
Nothing that could disguise the truth
No metaphors or anything
I think you are brilliant
And have a genius way about you
I think you are beautiful
I sometimes envy you
I wish I could know more of you
But all we have are words
And all the things we write
Even though they are only words
They have the means to satisfy
You are a pixie with fairy wings
That have sucked chloroform and turned
To see-through silken like sheets
Wings that cover me and nullify my skin
So that my cuts won’t sting anymore
So that I could finally rest
You are more than what you let on to be
So much more than seraphic
I hope you won’t ever need a blade again
To take out on what you feel
And scar you wrist and mind and soul
If you ever did, I would give you mine in place of them
To do with them what you will
Till the next time we write and converse
I will leave you with this one last verse
Be well always and my thoughts are yours
