Toot Me No Toots

Contributed by norm on Tuesday, 14th September 2004 @ 08:34:18 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Since the day that she was born,
She would up and blow her horn,
All the nice friends that she knew
Found it hard to be true blue.

Let the judgment of your actions
Be bestowed by other factions.
If you're going to be a star,
Let all judge you from afar.

Finally, if you're going to boast,
Your buddies dislike this most.
Change your ways this very day,
What else is there for me to say.

It's true a braggart
has no one to love
Most stick him up
on the shelf
There he languishes
there he tarnishes
while only loving himself

Of course there's always "Don't hide your light under a bushel..." :-)

If no one stuck their neck out
Then we would never know
Where their talent really lies
Or whether they could glow.

It's true some stick it out too far
And put down those they see as lower
I guess that's what you meant say
To criticize the stone thrower?

Cheers!

You're way ahead of me, but I must say,
This poem is a real winner........but that's not for you to say, nor neigh!!!! Although you are not horse, I must agree........let someone else toot your horn, and then you'll always be home free!!!
Great poem Norm........the hurrican didn't 'fect you abit!
Hello to Shirley..........have they got the AC back on yet?
