Hope and Hate

Contributed by faffeee on Monday, 13th September 2004 @ 09:48:49 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

you would be the most beautiful gift in the world
the most precious bond i could own
i'll never meet you
and i am going to tell the truth
how could i not despise you?
even if only for a while.
you're all i have left of him
hope and hate all at the same time
growing inside of me
bringing me down everyday
so please be real because you're how i get through the day.
i want to shout about us from the rooftops
and oh, to tell him, talk, smile, laugh, cry about you, a living hope inside
even if you're leaving soon, i need him to share your warmth.
but so selfish - you can't be my way back to him
i cannot stake my heart on one little spark
you're worth more than that, so don't hate me for this.

and if you have to go ... (you really have to go)
let me know i'm alone again
please try not to break me a little more
don't let me love you too much
please, just say goodbye, and go.

Oh hon, this just tears at me ... do you really have to end it like this? Take some time out, then think very clearly, take your lover out of the equation and give yourself some time to decide on your future and that of your baby. Ok, and having done that, be true to yourself, and never let one man stop you from shouting it from the rooftops ... because somewhere down the track ... another man will come your way who loves you and your baby. hugs Jan

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
