Roads that lead to nowhere,
Go from time to time,
To limitless places,
Nameless spaces,
Velvet and sublime
I’ve Pastures for my
laughter here,
Stables for my
needs,
But there I’d be
stable,
There I'd be free,
Soft ground that
cushions knees
My knees
And not to say
I am alone,
Others follow, too
To find a Nowhere to
Lay their head,
To run from ramped gloom
And it seems only prudent,
It seems only wise,
That I should stand among
these plains,
these friends,
Watching this sun rise
She comes from the East,
This crooked Sun,
And waves me home,
A journey begun
And as she beckons,
As she calls,
To forgotten hills,
And crystal falls,
To forests green,
And cities small,
I ask her patience,
So that behind me I
May call:
“I click my heels thrice
For the journey,
Twice for the friends,
Once for our troubles.
And again for amends”
Roads that lead to nowhere,
Clogged from time to time,
The last soul leaving Kansas,
So I turn out the light

Wonderful piece of work. Nowhere is nice occasionally, but in the end it is somewhere that you are safe and loved and accepted that makes the heart happy.
