I wander the streets, alone and humiliated,
My undying devotion is horrifically tainted.
The cobbled stones of the street,
Feel bitterly cold against my bare feet.
I yearn for the comfort of a cosy, warm cottage,
Where I can escape my past and my awful marriage.
Trouble follows me wherever I may go,
But the truth of the issue I never may know.
My dress trails in the mud,
I trip over a stone and land with a thud,
The rain pours down, soaking me to the bone,
More that anything I wish I could go home.

I read the poem aloud in French and I enjoyed the beauty of the sound. I could understand parts but not all, so I was thankful for the English translation and it was great to learn some new words. Do you speak French fluently?
