Have you ever awoke at night when you dreamed
So disappointed it wasn’t real like it seemed
Well if this has ever happened to you
I offer you proof that dreams do come true
The dream was familiar; I’m sure you’ve had it too
It’s where you find that someone to make the sum two
Although it may not seem like my word is much proof
I ensure you that every word is nothing but truth
From the very first glimpse, of her, I was stunned
But that’s not the whole story; I’ve only begun
I felt freed like a child by each word that she said
She was like the perfect toy with batteries included instead
It’s crazy how quickly we’ve clicked from the start
And how I let my guard down and poured out my heart
And a judging silence came over as she saw it all there
Then, she too poured out her heart so that we could share
A dream so close to perfect--actually it almost seemed fake
But this isn’t a dream, and I’m not going to wake
