Can I look with my eyes closed?
So I won't have to remember
that sight, that haunting sight
for the rest of my days?
Words fail me to describe
this moment -
The only thing coming, sadness.
Turn away, never to look,
a memory never born.
Yet I see.

Yes, that is difficult for me to do also. I try to remember that is just the shell that held the spirit and soul and heart of the person that I cared for. The sight will leave your mind hopefully and what will be left are the beautiful memories etched in your mind forever.
