SANGUINARY

Contributed by A_Corseted_Heart on Friday, 10th September 2004 @ 10:31:22 AM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

Released from internment in this chrysalis
No longer bound by the thorns in my wrists

Spit forth from a landscape of blatant torment and fire
Now roving through a mortal plane of veiled muck and mire

An intricate progeny of despotism and insanity
My perpetual subsistence ensures humanity’s servility

Let this beautiful terror commence
Nullity will engulf every sense

Accomplishing what no god can
I shall halt the free will of man

Left searching for this illustrious affliction you once whole heartedly subscribed to… Where is your god…
The inane promise of everlasting life now refuted…
Your deity exposed as a fraud…

The anguish of knowing it was all a lie
Time on your knees with hands pressed together… all those words unleashed unto an empty sky

Am I a figment of your imagination…
Or is your reality of my creation…

Pray, hope, wish, repent, beg… but no one can hear you scream…
Shhh, it was just a dream.

Wow, now that was powerful. Strong and focused; deep and pensive. Love the wording.

doh, this has been the BEST poem i've read on this entire site. You did an incredible job. If you would of left the last line out i think it would have been a more powerful ending that made people just stop and struggle to think for a second. Really amazing poem.
