Smile

Contributed by x_midnight_x on Friday, 10th September 2004 @ 07:29:10 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Wear your smile paste it on,
hide a life thats going wrong.
Stretch those lips wide and strong,
while inside you cries the sadest song.

Let grief escape through empty tears,
sentimental films and late night beers.
Disguise your damaged bleeding heart,
though inside its torn your world apart.
Hide the debri sweep it all away,
and wear your smile again today.

Sadness overwhelms sometimes...and it seems to be easier to just hide behind that smile than try to explain thoses feelings.

Awesome poem..

So many of us hide behind smiles, when silently we're screaming in pain. You expressed this very succinctly. Great work! Peace to you.
