From the Abyss

Contributed by Hurretje on Friday, 10th September 2004 @ 07:05:01 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

As I carry sadness to another place
And wipe my harsh grounds clean
I feel the birds fly
From the inner court of my soul

As to protect my grazing face
The blinds are down
To quench the sun
And slake the clouds’ thirst

Please cry on me
Without hold
And drown my sorrows

Please cover me
In devouring desire
For rippling blue

Nothing more than this utter darkness
Nothing more than this silent storm
Who has ever seen
The dancing sand on the bottom of the sea?

I stare at you so high above
From deep below His heaven’s gate
For all that is
Died in my eyes
And never reached my soul

Please, sing for me
Just one more time
Our song of love
Full rhythm and rhyme
To sooth me when I cry
The words of your sweet lullaby

I send my words, my song, my prayer
From depths on which a black sun shines

If they survive the heat of Hell
And purgatory chill
Will you then receive them well
And carry me uphill?

This is great work, Hur. As you know I am not a fan of dark work but read this because I admire your work. You did an excellent job here. I must read you more.

This leaves me without words. Stunning. The longing and beauty of this is palpable. Beyond excellent.

May your heart find light and hope to carry on.
