Perhaps

Perhaps
if dawn
had no enemies,
no chance to be caressed
by slivers of radiant strands
that pierce
in defenseless invasions
where secret flee
from the truth.
Then each day
would always be a song
instead
of a prayer.
Perhaps
if sign posts
never lied
what haunts
our chase
could finally
die.
