The Illogical Literature of Love

Contributed by deadreckoning1983 on Thursday, 9th September 2004 @ 10:58:51 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I query, " Love dost thou exist?",
And Love answers me.
"It's in the hands that grasp the hours.
The blackened steel arms of time march on,
Ticking away into madness
In it's house of glass."
"Love is madness?", I ask.
And the clock answers me.
"No, Love is like the wind.
It is there, sometimes violently,
But it is there."
So, I climb the fig,
And ask the leaves.
"Dost the wind speak of love
As it passes by the night."
And the leaves answer me.
"The wind only whispers of sorrow,
It wails and weeps in it's passing."
"Love is sorrow?", I ask the coming rain.
And the clouds of despair answer me.
"How would we know the workings of Love?",
The answer poured down from the sky.
"Oh, cruel Love, where are thou?"
And Love answered me again.
"I come by my own time,
I am among everything,
And everyone."
Love has left it's mark on me,
And hoplessly I follow it to my grave.

You have many masterpieces on here, this is only the latest. As always your powerful visuals demand attention. "Hands that grasp the hours.." "blackened steel arms of time..."
Your words are powerful, the emotions here are very strong. --Mothy

I'm almost speechless...almost. This was definitely one, if not the best, poem I've ever read about lost loves. Oftentimes these types of poems are very cliche and unoriginal, merely restating what everyone else already has. (Mine are usually very much that way.) But this was original, you still portrayed your grief but did so without coming across as mopey or sappy. Congrats! :)

OMG Dane, how in the hell did I miss this one? How very selfish of me.
This was so incredibly moving. I am astounded. A virtual work of art,
my friend. Bravo! BRAVO!!!!!!
