Pobre Mijo
Is all they can say
Livin it for La Raza Loca
But they do it all in the wrong way.
" Mi Vida Loca "
Is what he writes in his letters
From behind the bars
His tattoos hide all his heart's scars.
This ' Vato Loco ' is only 16
Hooked on chronic
Rollin' with a gang
Pobre Mijo, es Paulito
This cliqua has no name but
Shame.
Introducin' los ninos
To La Raza, Vida Loca
Doin' drive by's and
Snortin coca.
You see, Paulito's older brother is in prison
Everyone in East Los practically worships him
But they don't know that this cliqua is killing him
And writes his death wish.
It will soon be all too late
En Mi Barrio, you only love
What you can hate.
His mama still tries to open her son's eyes
Because the way a man lives is the way a man dies.
But she couldn't save her sons
From their Gangsta Glorified Life
Beacuse for two down and out thugs
The love of money cut's like a knife.
We say it's " Por La Raza."
But all we're doing is killing ourselves
Children cry, Men die
We created this own hell.
And the cycle just continues
These kids don't understand
That the words " Mi Vida Loca "
Take out the soul in a man.
Pobre Mijo..............
Is what they say
As they look at his death perfectness
On his burial day
If only he lived a little longer while
He'd understand.........that
" La Raza, Vida Loca "
Is just another word for Suicidal.
(Here's the meanings of the spanish words used in this poem......................)
Pobre Mijo : Poor boy / son
La Raza Loca : The Crazy Life / Culture
Mi Vida Loca : My Crazy Life
Paulito : little Paul
Cliqua : Clique / Gang
Vato Loco : Crazy Thug / Guy
los Ninos : The Children
Coca : Cocaine
En Mi Barrio: In My Neighborhood / Ghetto
" Por la Raza " : For The Life / Culture
(sorry for the length of this )

Comprendo. No es necessito para vivir en su barrio para entender. La triste verdad es que, en muchos barrios, hay muchos ninos como Paulito. Pobre Paulito. Y pobre los ninos del mundo.
Well... I haven't tried writing in Spanish for YEARS, so please forgive me if that was not perfect. I like this very much. It's a crystal clear reflection of life en el barrio, en una cliqua. It is so terribly sad, so awfully unfortunate.
Thanks for sharing this,
