When all the you expected fades away before your eyes;
And everything you thought you knew is suddenly a lie.
When all the truths you've held so dear turn into fool's gold;
And everything you firmly grasped is difficult to hold.
You learn you can't predict the future based upon the past;
And someday life will teach you that not everything will last.
But sometimes you get a second chance that makes you recognize;
That dreams you gave up long ago are being realized.
You have to make a few mistakes to find out what is right;
Cuz life just isn't as clear-cut as only black or white.
And even if you think you may have missed your only chance;
It's amazing what you'll start to see with that second glance.
