US death toll in Iraq tops 1,000

The American military death toll in Iraq has reached 1,000 since March 2003 when US forces invaded, the Pentagon says.

The stark milestone follows a recent surge in fighting and attacks, with more than a dozen US soldiers killed in the last two days alone.

--\O//--

They will always be remembered
For the sacrifice they made
Doing their duty overseas
Their memory will never fade

Fighting George Bush’s war
Based on ugly lies
They did their best, they passed each test
Though their leader we despise

George Bush will be remembered
As a liar and a thief
As a man corrupt and stupid
A real Clown-in-Chief

But as the thousandth man
Lays down his life for Bush
He would beg us please
Give this clown the push

All those young lives
All those hopes and dreams
Thrown away for lies
And dirty political schemes

Those idealistic troops have given all
Because of an obnoxious crew
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice
Not a word they say is true

Oh yes, they’ll rub their hands
And speak with much regret
But these liars don’t mean a word
They are as dirty as they get

Iraq had no WMDs
There was no 9/11 link
Iraq was no danger
Their lies truly stink

And look what they have cost
And how many more will die?
Due to Bush and his dogs
Who conned America with a lie

--\O//--

The current toll of American military dead in Iraq stands at 2002

George W Bush may just as well have pulled the trigger himself
