Lifepoems

I've been down this path before
I've seen the broken glass along the shore
From a distance beauty gleams
Up close there shines a different sheen
I reach to touch the glistening jewels
Not realizing I'm such a fool
I walk away with blood red wounds
And yet I know I shall return
A lesson tought, not a lesson learned

must everything be a lesson
Can't some of it be enjoyable pleasures
just by the pain of things? |

What I really like about this poem is the fact that I can relate to it so easily. If i was the main character there, i'd probably be bleeding to death. Short an sweet, really makes u think, overall good read. |
