Goddess

Contributed by luna_mica on Tuesday, 7th September 2004 @ 01:10:41 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

I dreamt on a moonlit night,
This dream of a goddess
Wreathed in ethereal light,
And all I wanted was a kiss.
She walked the ground,
And about her all around
All was undeniably blessed.
This was my lovely goddess.
I lay watching her gracefully move,
And felt myself fall further in love.
Her beauty outshone the moon,
And her grace made me swoon.
She had the looks of Aphrodite,
And an endearing air of humility
It seemed to me at that time,
That to pursue her would be futility.
But I continued watching her,
My heart aching, and my soul yearning.
And I finally could not restrain myself,
So I hoped that my favor I would earn.
I picked one of the copious lilies,
And, with a flourish, presented it to her.
She smiled a sweet smile, I almost melted,
And the glade was filled with laughter.
"Oh, my dear, such a pure gift,
I have never been given.
This lily, and the love it was given for,
Makes life worth living."
Then she bent down and gave me a kiss,
I knew she was an angel then.
She then stood up and said
"Close your eyes and count to seven."
This I did, wondering why,
And after this, I opened my eyes.
She was gone like smoke,
And in that moment, I awoke.
I lay for a while and
Thought of my dream.
I missed her so, though
She was not real.
I sat down and thought
Of all that happened that day.
My goddess who left me.
Then I got up and walked away.

Ohhh, i like this one too.
Its kinda sweet. lol. I dunno if that was what you were going for. lol
If only dreams came true, huh?
Great write.
But...if i were to change something, it would be this:

"Close your eyes and count to seven."

I would have changed it to 'Ten'. But it is still great the way it is.
Great write,
Phil xxx
