Alienated friend

Contributed by nomie on Tuesday, 7th September 2004 @ 10:13:19 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

So much we’ve been through,
So much we’ve done,
Good times and bad,
Bellyaching fun,

One day it might all be over,
One day you might be gone,
Just a lingering memory,
Of everything we’ve done,

But if our friendship isn’t constant,
If you fail to stick around,
I’ll let you go on your way,
Without making a sound,

I can’t hold on,
To what doesn’t care for me,
I’ll just move along,
To where I’m meant to be.

So if you’re planning to go,
I’ll say my last goodbyes,
With sorrow that soon dissipates,
And tears behind my eyes.

hi, i can really relate to your poem. I had a best friend who was my friend for 17 years then she suddenly stopped talking to me one day. That was a year ago and it still hurts today.
Keep writing, theres some good rhymes.

Very touching. I hope the person to whom you're writing has taken note of the feelings contained and will do everything not to lose your friendship and love.

With sorrow that soon dissipates.......interesting line.

Beautiful work.
