where dreams lead

Contributed by neveryours on Monday, 6th September 2004 @ 06:40:03 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

Did I imagine it would be this
And if so, what brought this dream to me
For surely, truth be known in bliss
And bliss is nowhere near you see

I am quite alone in empty- ness
Yet all around is sorrow's hue
All blue grey in it's quiet presence
And tracing ghost like dreams of you

So when did this appear I say?
Imploring minds do want to know
Some sleight of hand that love might play
On foolish hearts that watch that show

I am stronger far than this I thought
But thinking cannot make it so
And see what over confidence wrought
And see how quickly falls the foe

So knowing not where this will lead
And knowing less what I should do
I give my heart because I need
and all my roads still lead
to you.

ok. this is by far the best poem I have read on this site. like, it's a true poem by the books, using poetic diction and allusions. I really loved it, too. the flow and, yes, the mysticism you use to describe love. :-P I love it. Thank for sharing!
