"Why these dreams? These last exorcising of the horrors and the fears beginning when my father died and the bottom fell out. I am just now restored. I have been restored for over a year, and still the dreams aren’t quite sure of it. They aren’t for I’m not. And I suppose never will be.”
Excerpt from Sylvia Plath’s journal entry of July 15, 1957
I tumbled into the dark
And found myself within a dream
Pensive in pained unconsciousness
Beneath a muted scream
Freed from pathetic reality
Swept away from the hopeless night
Possibility in partial thought
Wanting not the light
Desperate for the delusion
And the visions that it may bring
A picture in diluted paint
Love without the sting
For there, just beyond sanity
As the shadows gently fall away
Perfect in pointless scenery
Forever you will stay

I love it, it speaks really well, even without a voice saying the words. Good job. |

Like something lost and recaptured only in dreams, or something longed for. someone once told me dreams can come true, don't stop believing.
Your writes always amaze me with their depth and insight. this one is no exception! |

Dreams can carry us out of our, sometimes, miserable reality to a place we long to linger.
This is a typically flawless piece, SNM. You truly know how to assert your feelings and bring the reader to an understanding of your heart.
A wonderful read...PM30 |

beautiful piece! There is a sort of twilit place where our dreams and the people in them remain forever safe from the harsh realities. I think that's not escapism, but something deeper, and more native to the human spirit. I love it, whatever the psychologists think of it.
Ah, you've cast me into a reflective frame of mind! See how good you are?

To escape reality...(if only for a few hours)..within our dreams....I think that is a place everyone longs for...I love this poem because of so many reasons.....beautifully written as always SNM.

"muted scream" ... definitely dream like. That is a bit scary and haunting.
I find, as I follow along in the path of Snemmy, that I keep finding myself being more and more impressed. It does not seem possible but there it is.
I say again....true poet you are.
