Intoxicated

Contributed by AnastasiaN on Sunday, 5th September 2004 @ 09:40:52 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

Your red eyes fall upon mine
bearing your soul
Your hushed slurred words
lose all their control
Another sombre state
you're revealing to me
You're buckling beneath it's weight
I can tell it's frustrating
You touch my face and promise
a world of promises again
How can I take your word on this
when you've already promised me the same?
Can you look at me
with those shining green eyes?
Can you assure me
your words are not lies?
Can you convince me
you won't let me fall?
Can I convince you
to reveal it all?

wow thats a good write. alcohol has taken away the trust, the respect that people give you , but it depends on how you handle yourself. do it wisely and people dont judge you so harsh. angie

I can completely relate to you on this subject. The person I fell in love with has an addiction with cocaine.....as so did I. I still love him and we still talk..... but I had to let him go..... if it is real.... then you're loved one will comeback to you through out time. You can't change anyone...... you can just be there when they need you. Much love and luck to you.
ALINA

i will disagree with emy. this is not sad, it is very powerful. by the end of the poem you seem to be in control of yourself and your feelings. this was very strong and very good poetry. DR
