You caught me hiding my feelings deep down
You stoped me from burying my happiness underground
How did you know I would be forever thankful

What if I took it for something that should be
What if I didn't feel like you cared for me
How did I know you were being sincere

The present we can't deny
No one can guess
What'll become of you and I
It's so useless to try to predict
If I'll find what I so long seeked
You're here with me and that's all I want

You never laughed at my weird ways
You always brightened my rainy days
How did you know I was stuck on my mistakes

What if I led you on to believe my lies
What if I faked the attraction you saw in my eyes
How did I know you'd still stick around

The present we can't deny
No one can guess
What'll become of you and I
It's so useless to try to predict
If I'll find what I so long seeked
You're here with me and that's all I want

Warming and honestly expressed. All the what-ifs in the world are pointless if one isn't living for the moment. You highlighted this very well.
