I feel like I'm indifferent
if you kiss her
or tell her you love her
As long as I believe
you're fooling her too
It's ok, I don't need you
I feel like I'm not bothered
if you hold her
or sweetly whisper in her ear
As long as I believe
you're fooling her too
It's ok, I don't miss you
I feel like I'm uninvolved
if you hug her
or stare so long into her eyes
As long as I believe
you're fooling her too
It's ok, I don't love you
I feel like I'm drifting
when she starts crying
or telling that you were lying
As long as you try
to hide behind me again
No, I don't want you anymore

Good write. I can empathise with the apathy and resolution evident here, even when emotions are turbulent.
Welcome back, NYC, been a while . . . |
