I'm convinced that Cannabis is the most beneficial plant known to man
and I will try my hardest in this poem to help you to understand
but before we get to the festivities we must start at the start
marijuana increase Alpha-wave brain activity, thus creativity and art
Marijuana should be legalized just look at who stands to gain
look at all of the sick people and think about their pain
then look at who it is that stands to lose the most of all
its the lumber companies that chop down trees standing tall
if marijuana were legalized it would replace 10-20 percent
of all prescription medicines and such money wouldn't have to be spent
so you can see why pharmaceutical companies might not want to compete
and on top of all that its one of the best things you can eat
its an exceptional source of protein and vitamin E,
and essential fatty acids like omega-6 and omega-3
so its great for good health and its good for great healing
and it grows for free so there's no need for paying or stealing
In fact IN 1619 Americas first law was enacted at Jamestown colony
"ordering" all farmers to grow hemp seed in the land of the free
You could pay your taxes with cannabis in America for over 200 years
now they just take it away and make us pay and fill our heads with fears
You could even be jailed in America if you chose not to grow
I bet that was some information that you didn't know
George Washington grew weed and Ben Franklin used it in paper mills
and now we honor them both on our one and one hundred dollar bills
The reason for the War of 1812 fought by America against Great Britain
was access to Russian hemp thats the history that was written
its the most-durable natural soft-fiber in the world, its the strongest
and out of all other natural fibers on the planet it lasts the longest
Botanically, hemp is one of the most advanced plants on Earth.
thats part of the reason why it has so much value and worth
Hemp is, by far, Earth's premier, renewable natural resource.
Yet it has been seized from the people by violence and force
It can grow 12 to 20 feet or more in just one growing season
Yet its on the wrong side of a war for which there is no legitimate reason
Now its 2004 and lets face it our environment is wrecked
we need to stop deforestation and reverse the greenhouse effect
Hemp can provide the overall majority of the worlds energy needs
as well as food, transportation, Industrial, and paper all in one seed
while at the same time rebuilding the soil and reducing pollution,
and cleaning the atmosphere , it is the perfect solution
Hemp was used in ship sails as far back as the the 5th century BC
and the world wouldn't be the same if we didn't sail across the sea
when the covered wagons went west they were covered with hemp canvas
even the word "canvas" is a pronunciation of the Greek word "Kannabis."
The first American Flag known better as "Old Glory"
was made out of marijuana and thats a true story
Although these facts have been almost forgotten,
our forebears were aware that hemp is softer than cotton,
Cotton accounts for about 50% of all agricultural chemicals used today
Pot needs no chemicals it has few enemies except for the U.S. gov & DEA
Whatcha ya think the Declaration of Independence was first written on
thats correct you guessed right and it just goes on and on and on
Marijuana is more a part of our history than roses or corn
and its not nearly as bad for society as X-rated porn
What happend to the "inalienable rights" that were given to us
of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Whats all the fuss
There was never a real threat to your health or well being
It was manufactured media cuz people believe what they're seeing
they told the people that if they smoked it they would go nuts
and it would turn their daughters into drug addicted sluts
they said a man that uses it rapes and steals and probably Kills
while at the same time they tried to sell you prescription pills
Lies LIES lies its just another way that the few can control the many
and get us all tied up in the system and take our every penny
Its not logical its not right our whole country has been mislead
and the government wont rest until each pot plant is dead
Its just as bad as genocide destroying an entire species or strain
Its a plant that can save the World and we KILL it. Thats just insane
So I say legalize the weed and let it be grown in fields and on farms
and I promise to you all that it will bring you no harm
The only thing dangerous about weed in the world today
is that your likely to get shot at or taken away
Am I really free if I can only make the decisions that I'm allowed to make
If thats the case than all our claims of FREEDOM are fake
So pop your pills smoke your squares and drink your alcohol
eat your fast food drink your coke watch the news and believe it all
those things are legal and they're all multi-billion dollar industries
but for some strange silly reason I really don't feel free

I don't smoke anymore but I did for a long time. I think I would rather see people smoke than drink. But alcohol is legal. Even cops would rather bust a pot house than a crack house. I do hope all the facts you stated are facts and not hearsay, cause this was very informational. So, Peace to ya and don't bogart that joint, my friend! ;o)

An interesthing take on things... while I agre with you that most drugs do have their uses and a lot of other things rather than cannabis are actually harming ourselves two points I must invoke. One it is not the uses of drugs that make it bad but the misuses of it... marijuanna is a balm for those who work for a living...for the body expels the toxins after a workout or a hard days work but the drug addicts use drugs and just sit around thus killing themselves...so again misues is here curtailed perhaps...as for the other concerns, power always make men go mad, as long as the timber industry and the oil industry and the fast food industry and the tobacco industry are rich and powerful well...no pluralist groups can survive unless backed by one of those... of course we are not free...we surrender freedom when we agree to governance....but so far most people think that governance is better than anarchy and people are generally too lazy to fight for a cause... so we languish under our separate tyrannies so that we can be free to pursue other FUN activities and worry not about political plights... mayhaps ignorance is bliss...for most...oh well..just opinions. Very thought provoking write here! |

There are some points that should be addressed, the biggest one being that weed has been proven to be safer than alcohol and less addictive than caffeine (pm me for the source of this info).
Anyway, good write. I wish it would be legal as it would be a great alternative to alcohol, which can create worse long term health problems than weed does. |
