Fairy Tale

Contributed by SlimStaple on Sunday, 5th September 2004 @ 01:46:09 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

This elaborate fairy tale pulls you in.
It ties you up with a string and it won’t let you go.
It holds you tightly and binds your mind.
Soon you cannot think of anything other then the lies you hear.

They are very good a weaving a yarn.
They only tell you what they want you hear.
You never hear the truth about their hero
Because they pretend that part is the lie.

Well here is what I think about their savoir.
He is just a made up being to help those around the world.
They felt too lonely and misguided.
No one seemed to know what the truth really was.

So came this god that every one speaks of.
He is only there to help those that feel alone.
Now why do I feel like no one else can see this?
That he is just like a story you tell to children before bed.

So please don’t tell me I’m lost with out him.
Can’t you see it is you that is lost?
Find your self, don’t hide behind him.
He can’t save any better then you can save your self.

A scapegoat is not what you need.
There is no real reason for the pain in the world
Other then people believing god will fix it all.
Because when they do, they don’t try to fix it themselves.

Don’t you see your god is hurting you more
Then he could ever help you?
As long as you think, he will save you I know
That you will never save yourself.

So please, close the good book and throw it away.
It rots your brain and fills you with untrue beliefs.
Once you rid yourself of that fantasy
Then you will see, that he kept you under a lock and key.

A little harsh huh? Well its okay you don't have to tell me that God doesn't exist. I know he does. I know, I know, your probably thinking heres another one of those stupid christian freaks that is trying to assure themselves of life afterdeath. No, thats not the case. I feel him in my life everyday. I was diagnosed with a rare liver disease. They told me that I would most likely have to have a transplant. Medicine was most likely not going to help. Well, it is a year in october since this has affected my life and i have prayed everyday that god would heal me. The doctors are baffled at how I am doing so well. They completly took me off my medicine recently. This may be a lot of garbage to you, but it is real for me. I know where i'm going and i'm not throwing my good book away. What you decide to do is one thing. But, one day you will regret your desicion as hell awaits you. This poem makes me extreamly sad. It truthfully brought tears to my eyes, not because the truth hurts, but because you don't know what the truth is. What you believe is your desicion and i respect that, but please don't tell others what they should'nt believe. Tell me this, what proof do you have that there isn't a God? His name has been heard over the nations for eternity from all different parts of the world. Are these people crazy and making it all up? What would cause human beings to believe in a god? It must be something. He lives with in me and i have dedicated not only my life, but eternity to him. Again, I'm only giving my opinion on this issue, just as you have done with your poem. I hope somewhere along the way somthing will open your eyes to our "elaborate fairy tale." There is a heaven and there is a hell...this is not something you haven't heard before. This comment can either go through one ear and out the other or it can hopefully make you want to accept God and have faith. Well, I hope you won't be too upset or mad by my opinion. I'll pray for you at church tonight even if you think i'm praying to nothing.
