nights alone without you
days like all the rest
given half the chance to follow
sanity's flight from this test
yearning for some kind of measure
a chance to maybe breathe free
needing a release form the tension
to keep from climbing that tree
feeling like some caged animal
crawling from its' skin
pausing barely to icily breathe
aching for the sweet sting of sin
leaving propriety lost in the quake
nestled in a mound of bundled nerves
casting a backward glance to passivity
stepping up to the plate of verve

very good write. we want most what we cant have. then when we have it we take it for granted later on. kind of crazy how that works. |
