To My Mother

Contributed by Katie2008 on Friday, 3rd September 2004 @ 07:39:02 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

You were never there when I needed you
So why do you love me now?
15 years of my life I have lived without you
So what makes you think I need you now?
We lived in the same house
You never had a kind word to say
I've been under the same roof with you all a long
Yet you don't know me at all
Now that great grandpa has passed away
You act so kind and sweet
Out in public, at least
Then at home you start again
With your screaming and yelling and hurting
I used to regret not being like my other friends
Who had a mother to do things with
Go to the movies or the mall or just sit and talk about anything at all
I never had that
But I can't say I'd miss it
My skin crawls when you're near me
I hate it when you call my name
You say that you don't want me
You should have thought about that before
When you die, don't count on me to remember who you are
Or speak of nice things we did together
Because there will be none in my mind at all
