Rat Days
Rats don’t read books they
eat them and through their
stomachs know about us.
When man has exhausted
time they will swarm
the land and eat our eyes.
Blinded we will stumble
down subways, sewers
and damp basements.
The stench as we fight,
bleed and rot will be their
sweet revenge
