Even by the Shore,
Oats grow.
Wild and giggling,
Waving in trade winds.
Near crushed crabs,
Young shoots peer in disbelief.
Some amongst rocks,
Eking out a life on their own.
Or round blackberries,
Spiny vines, wicked designs.
And mothers cry,
Only seven steps away.

Life does exist even in the harshest areas. I liked your analogy here between life and the wild oats. Very interesting piece of work.
