Reminiscent of Stars

Contributed by ChicaBug on Tuesday, 5th November 2002 @ 06:40:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Alone under the dark night sky
I gazed up at the millions of stars,
Wondering if you could see them
from where you were.

Somehow I knew you were thinking of me
and those few days before,
where you and I were we
It was crazy, that inevitable feeling
It had only been four sunrises and sunsets
since I had begun to count the days,
But it had been months from the day
I began to feel that way.

You became my dream come true
when you whispered "I love you"
My heart skipped beats with our first kiss
Each outing brought its own adventure and bliss
We could do absolutely nothing and be content.

Now I can't imagine life without you,
A dull colorless wasteland instead of skies bold and blue
You've brought color to my life,
Done away with my negativity and strife
You've helped me laugh, and even cry
I know I find more to love as time goes by.

I end these thoughts back where I began,
Gazing up at the stars, but this time
you're holding my hand.
