You Are My Beautiful Cancer

Contributed by deadreckoning1983 on Wednesday, 1st September 2004 @ 01:33:18 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

These bitters tears roll off so sweet,
Why am I crying for you?
I did everything I knew to do,
But it still wasn't good enough.
You destroyed everything inside of me,
You are my beautiful cancer.
Eating at away at my kindness, my chivalry.
You spat it back in my face,
Forcing me to regurgitate at what I've become.
I loved you the best I knew how,
And you crushed me for it.
I am a shell of a ghost.
You drained so much of what I was,
I don't even know who the hell I am anymore.
Why is love so cruel?

This reminds me of probably the same thing that happened to me not long ago. (I wrote Love's Avenger and Billie right afterward.) I really get what you are saying here in your own words, bro. "You are my cancer". Everything in here is right on. "I am a shell of a ghost." "You spat it back in my face." You are a helluva writer. --Mothy

Such a sad write, I hate how some people give us so much grief and for what.

Love is so cruel because most people dont really care. They're great at acting as if they do, but deep down you're just another person to them. You're safest not ever really caring about anyone. It's a sad truth...=/

I don't think most people are inherently cruel. I just think we
don't understand each other. It's a very sad fact. But with
lots of caring, love and hope, we can soar above our greatest
expectations.

Wonderful write Dane. This was outstanding!
And thanks for everything!!! Dude, you rock!

...Those last 6 lines...So emotively full, and utterly crushing. Painful and far too relatable.

That line about being a shell of a ghost...Sheer excellence, my friend!

You truly have a gift. Keep writing.
