My silver-white companion, come sit for awhile.
Let your radiance shine through night's black veil.
Shall I tell you my secrets? Will you not betray me
to the sun with your borrowed light?
Yet stay and sit, let me gaze upon your beauty
from my place afar. My ever constant friend -
do you smile, or blush, or laugh, up there -
in your starry perch? What shadows do you keep?
Whose mysteries do you hide? Will you stay mine,
my silver-white companion?

I enjoy the idea of the moon as a companion, as I like to write about the moon and its embodiment of emotion, and its effects upon the earth and its occupants.
Your questions are pertinent, as I feel they are asked of the same kind of entity as I enquire, and the way you express its light as 'borrowed' is a nice touch.
Perhaps the moon will one day answer, until then . . .
