A face smiles at me on the wall
I steal it back from her familiar gaze
Tried it on for size
Slipped into her new disguise
Now this face is mine
She has it all
Everything I know
Too bad she isn’t real
Built into the shadows
My life was bruised but never broken
Inside I’m screaming out
Then she puts on her happy grin
If I let her out, she’ll run away
She has it all

I envy her carefree life
The smile we all stop to look up at
Without you I can’t survive
Don’t leave me here uncovered

I liked the mood of this poem it struck me as kind of creepy. I enjoyed it though just like I
enjoy everything you write. I'm going to add
