Splinter

Contributed by pixie on Tuesday, 31st August 2004 @ 04:09:34 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I have a splinter imbedded in my mind,
Past hasn’t been in the least bit kind,
All it knows is how to hurt & taunt,
It’s nasty, callous ways it loves to flaunt.

Night after night I feel it burrow deeper,
It has no watcher or no keeper,
No-one can control where it wants to go,
It hides away so that no-one can ever know.

The hurt long became too much to bare,
Of the long term damage I am well aware,
I once gave up on finding this heathen,
Grew sick & tired of all the deceiving.

The longer I leave my splinter,
The longer my heart & soul will live in Winter,
To remove this thing finally from my brain,
Will finally be the end of all my pain.

I am going to do all that is in my power,
To give my insides a well deserved shower,
Wash all the traces of my past once & for all away,
This is a cruel game that has been too long in play.

Bravo, bravo, my girl. Krissy, you can do it. You already realize that is the problem so you are halfway there. I know you can and will do it. Sometimes being headstrong can be good thing!! lol

Love,
Rita

amazing write. i loved your analogy. well you cant erase the past only move on from it. such conforting words, eh? you just have to find a way to use it to good means to never make the same mistakes or get in the same situations again, of course i cant manage that simple task =] the present is here to make an alternate past for a different future.

Everything I feel right now
Is of a consequence of you
How I honestly and truly admire you
Unconditionally and entirely
I love the way you write
Its beautifully sad and enwrapping
Your talent is magnificent and paramount
And you are all inspiring
