Life is Overwhelming

Contributed by AnastasiaN on Tuesday, 31st August 2004 @ 04:03:06 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

This dark cloud is hovering
it rains on me every day
The tears soak my pillow
as I try to wash it away
This knife here is waiting
it tickles my skin once in a while
but the next time that I pick it up
how will I know the thin slice
won't be just another trial?
These days attack mercilessly
they return to me with more pain
I can't seem to get past the thought of thinking
when the teardrops become permanent stains
This life is overwhelming
and despite the few angels who stand in my way
I can't escape the end that is nearing
because I get weaker at the start of each day

Put the knife away, get over it and go outside into the world where there is pain, sadness, happiness and love, but it is life. Feel the sun on your face and hear the sounds of tears and laughter. Even sadness and pain is better than death. Start living again.

Very, very nice. I especially like
"I can't get past the thought of thinking
when the teardrops become permanent stains"

The teardrops becoming permanent stains really struck me. These days do attack mercilessly for me as well. It will ease though I am sure, and soon I hope, for us both. Please hang in there.
Your end is not decided, things change everyday, there is opportunity, hope, and love. Probably covered by pain and misery but they are there.

There are hundreds of people here to understand and listen to you. Please keep writing! And feel free to send me a message if you ever need to talk - misery loves company... because it dilutes it.

excellent write. the ending is enevitable yes, but the journey there is where you can change the ending. peoples views on life differs. i think life is meant to have the opportunity to live. what you do with the opportunity isnt your worth in life, what you do with it is simply how you life your life. hrm, will i ever stay on subject?

Hurt and Pain is alot better than death. I know i feel like that all the time, but i am determined to fight it, and you have to do that too.
