A Letter

Contributed by alli on Tuesday, 31st August 2004 @ 10:12:38 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I stumbled through the dark tunnel of my existance
Looking for answers to unknown questions
I tried to fill a void that can never be filled
And I gave my love away
You came to me in a dream
The light in your eyes shone brightly
It pierced the darkness of my soul
And gave warmth to a heart that had long since grown cold
In a world of hatred and uncertainty, I found comfort in your embrace
And safety in your presence
You have given me so much more than you will ever know
The antidote of your love is more powerful than any drug
You have brought back to life a part of me I thought was dead
I think of you and smile
Even on the rainy days, and the darkest nights
The sun breaks through, and the stars glow in your eyes
How could anyone touch my soul with a single embrace?
Because of you, I'm happy with who I am
I can breathe a little easier, and I'm thankful for that
You're all I've ever wanted
You are every love poem I've ever written.
